QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is a nationally recognized, evidence-based suicide prevention training. The 90-minute offering is designed to train faculty and staff in how to identify common warning signs for suicide, how to have a compassionate and non-judgmental conversation with a distressed or suicidal student, and how to help the student access mental health support. As rates of anxiety, depression and suicide increase among college students, these are important skills for us all!
QPR is offered at no cost to Western faculty and staff members and can be tailored to meet the professional needs of your team. If you are interested in hosting a QPR training for your department, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. QPR is also offered quarterly and can be found by accessing the WWU training page .
