Start the Conversation, is a 60-minute suicide prevention program developed for and by Western students. Like traditional “gatekeeper” trainings, participants learn common warning signs for suicide, how to intervene when someone is in distress, and how to connect a suicidal thinker to professional mental health support. Designed with Western students in mind, the statistics, responses and scenarios are specific and unique to the needs of our campus community.
Start the Conversation is offered at no cost to student groups and academic classes at Western. If you are interested in hosting a training for your team or class, contact us at email@example.com.
